Wandi Nerida is a not-for-profit organisation governed by a board and staffed with qualified and experienced medical, allied health, and support staff. We value lived experience and recovery, and many of our staff, board members and volunteers have been affected by eating disorders. The leadership team oversee operations of the facility ensuring the highest quality of care and standards are met for all participants, their families, carers, and employees.

Anne Doherty
RPN, RGN, BHA, altMBA
Chair of the Board
Anne has over 40 years in the health industry; the majority in mental health. Previously the Executive Director Mental Health at Monash Health, Anne brings skills in governance, clinical operations, and service development.
Anne is a current assessor with the Australian Council of Healthcare Standards, a member of the Victorian Mental Health Clinical Network Governance Committee, a member of the Clinical Advisory Committee South East Melbourne Primary Health Network and was recently appointed to the Expert Advisory Committee assisting the Royal Commission Victoria Mental Health.

Kevin Barrow
BSc, MSc, MBA, GAICD
Non-Executive Director
Kevin has more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Most recently, as Country Manager for Philips Australia and New Zealand. Kevin joined Philips from medical technology firm Becton, Dickinson and Company where he was the Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand since 2006. Prior to this, he held several senior sales and marketing management roles at pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly.
Kevin was appointed to the Board of the Medical Technology Association of Australia (MTAA) in 2009-2010 and was elected Chairman in 2012, serving in that role until his departure from Becton, Dickinson and Company.

Jodie Ashworth

Executive Director and Director of Nursing
Jodie Ashworth has over 30 of experience in the Australian public & private health sectors as a registered nurse, midwife, quality director, and executive leader of large public health services.
Jodie is most passionate about leading value-based organisations with a focus on kind, safe and inclusive care. She has previously served board terms on the Victorian Quality Council and was a panel member in disciplinary hearings for AHPRA. Her work with the indigenous community and the prevention of family violence has received state government awards. She is also a current Accredited Surveyor for National Standards, Equip National & Community Services.

Professor Richard Newton
MBChB (Edin), MRCPsych, FRANZCP
Non-Executive Director
Richard is the Clinical Director of Peninsula Health Mental Health Service, an Adjunct Professor at Monash University, a consultant adult psychiatrist within Peninsula Mental Health, and has a private practice specialising in eating disorders.
Richard is also a board member of Mental Health Victoria, has had several roles within RANZCP and is currently Chair of the Victorian Branch of the College. He is a member of the Australian Safety and Quality Commissions Comprehensive Care Advisory Committee and has contributed to the development of the Commission’s work on recognition and response to deterioration in mental state.

Dr. Peter Dobson

Peter is a GP and practice owner with over 30 years of experience in health. He has extensive leadership experience in the healthcare sector, having chaired the Sunshine Coast Division of General Practice and stewarded the development of Sunshine Coast Health Network Ltd through the Medicare Local and PHN transformations.
He has consulted as a medical advisor to a multinational health corporation, contributing to the development of in-home monitoring of patients with multi-factorial and complex medical, physical, and social needs.
Peter has strong governance skills and extensive experience in stakeholder engagement, conflict resolution, performance evaluations and member engagement.

Julian Maiolo

Julian is Director of Paxton Partners, a management consulting firm specialising in the Australian health and human services sector. Julian has close to 30 years of experience as both a health industry executive leader and senior consultant in the sector. His experience extends across strategic, operational, and technical domains of health care management. Julian is a Certified Practicing Accountant and holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics, master’s in Business Administration as well as being a recent graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He advises to a range of Australian public and private health service providers and to State and Federal levels of Government.

Warren Ward

Medical Director
Warren Ward is Director of the Queensland Eating Disorders Service (QuEDS) and Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Queensland. He is Chair of the Queensland Health Eating Disorder Advisory Group and co-author of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry (RANZCP) Clinical Practice Guidelines for Eating Disorders.
In 2017 he received the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Eating Disorders (ANZAED) Distinguished Achievement Award. In 2018 he was elected a Fellow of the International Academy of Eating Disorders. He has published more than forty articles and book chapters, most of them on eating disorders.

Catherine Houlihan

Catherine is a Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years’ experience in the eating disorders field. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from specialist eating disorders services in the UK and Australia spanning inpatient, outpatient, and day programs She has trained with world-leaders in eating disorder treatment and is most excited about instilling therapeutic principles into the culture of Wandi Nerida. She is also a keen supervisor and researcher and has published journal articles on eating disorders and body image.

Rob North
BMed, FRANZCOG, FRACGP & FACRRM
GP Obstetrician
Rob was a rural GP Obstetrician in rural Victoria for 7 years who enjoyed the variety of work in General Practice. He then pursued further training and completed his Gynaecology speciality training in 2020, but maintains his GP qualification. Rob visits Wandi Nerida in both capacities, to provide care to the participants while they are away from home. When not at work Rob loves the outdoors and the fantastic climate here on the Sunshine Coast.
