Your referrer will receive an acknowledgement letter within 5 business days of receipt of your referral. You’ll then be entered into the Wandi Nerida system and receive an email confirming your referral has been received, along with a self-assessment form and a consent to store information form. Please return these forms within 1 week of receipt—this is a priority to keep your application moving forward.
A Wandi Nerida team member will contact you to schedule a preadmission phone call to discuss the information in your self-assessment form. Following this call, our team will assess your details and determine your readiness for treatment. If you’re deemed ready for care, you’ll be placed on our waitlist and contacted again four weeks prior to your expected admission date with the admission details.
A Wandi Nerida team member will contact you within two weeks of receiving your self-assessment to schedule a preadmission telehealth appointment at a mutually agreeable time. Where possible, our team will work with you to arrange a suitable time for a 45-60 minute call. This call allows us to review the information you provided on the self-assessment form and learn anything additional you may want us to know.
Requests for leave during your stay at Wandi Nerida will be considered by your treatment team on a case-by-case basis. Your treating psychiatrist will discuss the request with you and your nominated support person and will consider the reasons you’ve requested an absence from Wandi Nerida and the likely associated risks and benefits of temporarily leaving the facility.
Leave may form part of your treatment at Wandi Nerida. Supported leave is considered once a participant is in a phase of treatment where leave is considered appropriate for the individual. This will be discussed with the multidisciplinary team at the weekly MDT meeting. See the participant handbook for more information regarding this process.
Unauthorised absences during your treatment at Wandi Nerida are not permitted.
